1800 Tequila

Everyone knows that tech conferences can be stuffy, formal, business functions. Festivals, on the other hand, are a kaleidoscope of music, mud and sweat. When SXSW takes over, Austin, Texas is somewhere between the two. That’s why HYPEBEAST partnered up with the A$AP Mob and 1800 Tequila to throw a cozy house party in a mansion: classy enough for a conference, but lit enough for one of the world’s most forward-thinking music festivals — just refined enough.

While we were there, we talked to some of the party’s stylish attendees, including Broad City music supervisor Matt FX, 300 Records A&R Az Cohen, crossover meme-rapper-turned-R&B star Joji, and the man of the hour—Lord Pretty Flacko himself, A$AP Rocky—to glean some advice on how to balance work and play, what vibes are essential to a party and whether they’d rather be under-dressed or over-dressed for the function.

HYPEBEAST took over the V Palm Springs during Coachella for a two-day event that brought an oasis to the middle of the desert. Presented by Under Armour, the HYPEBEAST Hotel brought refreshing drinks courtesy of 1800 Tequila and Moët & Chandon; performances and DJ sets by Zaytoven, A-Trak, and Fool’s Gold all-stars like Leaf, Promnite, and Kittens; NYC DJ and party mainstay Mel Debarge provided the soundtrack. Gucci Mane and Migos continued their takeover campaigns, showing up to throw a couple girls into the pool. The event brought out a beautiful crowd of California’s best-dressed for 48 hours of sun-soaked bacchanalia.
